Chorus of Women – performance of The People’s Passion, 28th and 30th June, Canberra
28 Jun 5:00 PM - 30 Jul 6:30 PM AEST
Don’t miss these performances by A Chorus of Women of The People’s Passion by Glenda Cloughley with musical direction by Johanna McBride.
This year the performances coincide with the centenary of the disastrous Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919. But our story tells of the compassion and leadership shown by the women at the 1915 International Congress of Women held at The Hague, the 1919 Congress in Zurich, and through the founding and supporting of the Save the Children Fund. These events provide a example of the wellspring of compassionate citizen-led wisdom as encouragement to people’s movements today.
