Disrupt Land Forces – Public Meeting & Art Display Brisbane May 1st
1 May 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM AEST
YOU’RE INVITED! PUBLIC MEETING and ART EXHIBITION: Saturday May 1
“Land Forces” Weapons Expo will be held at the Convention Centre, South Brisbane from 1-3 June 2021. The corporations are meeting to make new partnerships to extract as much money from you, the taxpayer, as they can. Some deals will be for arms exports to Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia. Weapons there are used to suppress First Nations people, yet again. Four justifications: ‘security’, jobs, skills, exports. But which one is it?
Attend a public meeting and art show to find out more.
When: Saturday 1 May, 2.30-4.30 pm Art Show till 8pm
Where: Jagera Hall and surrounds, Musgrave Park, South Brisbane.
BTW, disruption starts 4 weeks later, Friday, May 28th as they bump those tanks in!

|Art Show: Voices of Peace and Decolonisation! Until 8pm.
In conjunction with the meeting, an art exhibition will be held in Jagera Hall with art works curated by Nat Farrah and Ratz Velasco who now live in Australia as political refugees and who know the ongoing ramifications and devastation caused by the global arms trade. Through artistic practices, refugees and community members will examine the negative impacts of war and link the arms trade as a key component in the experiences of displaced people. Further information here.
The show is an expression from women and nonbinary gender people. Contact us to submit works.
Hang out with us for the afternoon and into the evening! We have interesting plans. Other countries have stopped weapons expos because of escalating protests.
Wage Peace gives sincere thanks to Amy MacMahon and the staff in her South Brisbane office for their valuable assistance with meeting organisation.
Best wishes and peace,
