You are warmly invited to join MAPW and others on Remembrance Day to stand in silent commemoration of the victims of war. We will silently honour those Australians and others who fought in the slaughter of World War 1, and those who did not fight but suffered the war’s consequences. We will remember the many millions of Australians and others, the majority of them civilians, who have suffered since in seemingly countless wars.
A century on from the “war to end all wars”, we will reflect on our own nation, for whom war has become the normal state of affairs. Australia has been at war since 2001, a period four times as long as World War 1.
