IPAN Campaign during 2025 Federal Election
In the lead up to the Federal Election, the Independent and Peaceful Australia Network (IPAN) has independently assessed the major political parties, some smaller parties and a number of independent candidates regarding their policies and commitment to working towards independence and peace for Australia.
IPAN has assessed the three main parties (Labor, Liberal/National Coalition, Greens) and some smaller parties (One Nation, Trumpet of Patriots, The Australian Citizens Party) as well as incumbent independent MPs in addition to a number of independent candidates.
IPAN has subsequently created an overarching scorecard which includes the responses of parties as well as a number of election scorecards for specific independent candidates.
Please note: IPAN does not endorse any political party or candidate. We encourage voters to learn more about each party/candidate’s policy, and to base their preferences on their values and principles.

What are the IPAN Election scorecards?
Election Scorecards have been informed by responses to a questionnaire on issues of peace and independence provided to parties and independents. Where a questionnaire was not completed IPAN used party policy platforms and public statements to inform responses. Where there was disparity between a stated position and performance of a party, IPAN has indicated this. See link to ‘Rationale for ratings on scorecard’ where parties did not complete the IPA questionnaire.
IPAN’s election scorecards are designed to help voters understand how well the policies of political parties and candidates match up with IPAN’s vision for an independent and peaceful Australia.
The scorecards provides information to the public showing parties and candidates stances on key components of IPAN’s vision. The scorecards are not intended to be ‘How to Vote’ cards. IPAN is an apolitical organisation and is not using the scorecards to endorse any particular candidate or party, but encourage voters to do their own assessments of candidates and parties.
Note: Not all of the parties who received questionnaires responded and where a party is running only a limited number candidates and/or their policies and public statements were indeterminate, these parties have not been included in the scorecard.
How IPAN developed the election scorecard
- IPAN provided a questionnaire to political parties and candidates, which could be done via Survey Monkey or by completing the questionnaire manually.
- The questionnaire contained eight questions related to IPAN’s vision for an independent and peaceful Australia.
- Policy analysis – Where parties did not respond to the IPAN questionnaire, IPAN has relied on their policies and public statements, where possible, and at times relied on a party’s performance to determine responses to the eight questions in the questionnaire.
- Whilst public statements from political parties may indicate a stronger position, where this is not clearly stated in any public documents, we have used ‘Not Stated’ as the response.
Please note that while the scorecard represents a party’s overall position, individual candidates may have different views.
