Draft letter to send to your ALP politician

The international community have called on Israel to abide by international law, but these calls have fallen on deaf ears. Australia, as a signatory to the genocide convention, has a duty to prevent genocide and to ensure that it is not complicit in genocide. In order to do so, what is needed is deeds, not words.

The Labor government has not condemned Israel’s genocidal policies and actions. Silence will be judged by many in our own community and the international community as acceptance of Israel’s actions.  The cruel and criminal assault on Palestinians is condemned widely by Australians with long memories and will likely impact voting decisions at the next election.
