Clinton Fernandez has written a detailed article on the problems with AUKUS. He addresses the argument that AUKUS is a “nation building exercise similar to the Snowy Mountains scheme in the 1950s” – arguing instead, that “AUKUS is an investment in US shipyards rather than the Australian economy.”
