- Senator Jordon Steele-John to also speak at Press Conference, Supreme Court Gardens Perth,
Friday 4 October, 10.30 am
Senator Jordon Steele-John will be one of the key speakers at the upcoming national conference of the Independent and Peaceful Australia Network (IPAN) on Friday night at a public meeting, where AUKUS and its implications will be front and centre in conversations.
“The IPAN conference plays an important role in bringing peace activists, politicians and people from the community together to talk about how we can work together to stop violence and escalation,” stated Western Australian Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John.
“It is fitting that this year it will be held in Perth as the Albanese government moves forward with the AUKUS pact that will see nuclear submarines in our waters and more US troops stationed in Australia than ever before,” said Senator Steele-John.
“This political deal makes us less safe and spends hundreds of billions of public funds on armaments instead of the programs our community desperately need like dental into Medicare and Public housing”, stated Senator Steele-John.
Senator Steele-John will be speaking on AUKUS at the Perth City Library on Friday 4 October, at 6pm, which is the opening function of IPAN’s national conference on the weekend of 5 and 6 October at the UC Conference Centre, Level 1, 97 William St, Perth (Boorloo). All are welcome to attend this public meeting.
Senator Steele-John will also speak at a Press Conference in Perth, Friday 4 Oct, 10.30 am, to be held at the Supreme Court Gardens, Perth.
