The working group is examining the state capture of the Government by the US military and the arms dealers. Specifically we are looking at:
- The revolving door of senior people between defence and arms manufacturers and also the US military;
- The narrow source of advice on defence and security provided to the Defence Minister and our Government;
- The lack of transparency and oversight of our intelligence and security agencies;
- The Defence budget and procurement;
- Why Australia is tied so tightly to the USA militarily.
We welcome IPAN members joining the group to assist in drafting information sheets on these issues. We also need ideas on ways we can get these ideas out to the general public and specific campaigns that we could run on the issues.
