Evolutionary Catalyst Working Group
The purpose of this working group is to enormously amplify IPAN’s reach.
More generally, our aim is to make the entire environmental-progressive movement more influential by aligning to affect public consciousness.
We can do this by:
- Making common cause with environmental groups, sustainable agriculture folks, psychologists and more around the overarching goal of evolving a compassionate ecologically sustainable world.
- Inspiring and empowering members of these groups (and others) to act as Evolutionary Catalysts
‘Evolutionary Catalyst’ is a new social change role. At the heart of it is conducting personal conversations that enable people to think more realistically about disastrous ecological trends, including the path to nuclear war, and the system that drives them.
Some Evolutionary Catalysts introduce people to tools they can use to resolve their own emotional triggers.
Our aim, with others, is to inspire public commitment to transforming our ecologically destructive system. This cartoon by Tony Biddle captures the essence.

We envision multiple groups making common cause around the goal of transforming our destructive system.
The DNA of a transformational social change movement outlines how we can make this work.

2 As appropriate, the Evolutionary Catalysts working group draws on communication materials from the League of Evolutionary Catalysts. However, the IPAN working group is independent of the League.
