A Call-out for Peace, not war escalation, in Ukraine – October 27 2022

Call out for action by all peace supporters

Marles makes Australia part of the conflict

Email and or telephone Australia’s leaders

Defence Minister Richard Marles is committing Australian troops to train Ukrainian troops in the UK. This is an escalation of Australian involvement in this war and if past history is any guide, is “the thin end of the wedge” for actual troop involvement in this overseas war. Russia has said that the country which trains Ukrainian soldiers anywhere in Europe becomes part of the conflict. Marles is making Australia part of this war.

IPAN warns this is not a path to peace but will support continuation of this war.

A number of countries including India and China have called for a ceasefire and negotiations leading to a solution which addresses the security needs of the parties involved.
IPAN supports this call

Do we want Australian troops bogged down in yet another disastrous overseas war?
We need to stop Australia’s troop involvement before it starts and that means stopping our ADF training Ukranian soldiers in UK.

Please join the call for peace and convey your concerns directly to the Prime Minister, the Defence Minister and the Foreign Affairs Minister.

The message for them is simple and it is urgent:
“As a peace loving person, I urge you not to send Australian troops to train Ukrainian soldiers and instead urge that you call on all parties involved to support a ceasefire in Ukraine, supervised, if necessary by the UN, followed by negotiations for a security solution which address the needs of all parties involved in the war.”
