Peter Ong is the Secretary of the Electrical Trades Union (ETU) Qld/NT. Following a successful national conference of ETU branches around Australia, Peter addressed a meeting of Brisbane members of the campaign against AUKUS and the proposed nuclear subs base on the east coast of Australia. He details in this talk the democratic processes the union conducts in having had a policy of opposition to uranium mining and nuclear power for many years. He also outlies some thoughts on developing a campaign to oppose the establishment of nuclear submarine bases in either Brisbane, Newcastle or Pt Kembla.
